Luke Armstrong is a screenwriter & film director with a background in Hollywood Visual Effects. Following Graduation from his Computer Animation degree at the University of Portsmouth, he beat hundreds to attain an internship at Kodak's Visual Effects studio Cinesite. He went on to work for the top four VFX companies in London - Double Negative, The Moving Picture Company, Framestore and Cinesite. Luke was a member of the team that won 2017's BAFTA & Oscar for best Visual Effects on 'The Jungle Book', and has worked on high profile movies including Guardians of the Galaxy, Iron Man 3, Skyfall, Edge of Tomorrow, and World War Z. In 2017, Luke was made a member of the Visual Effects Society [VES]. Aside from his professional VFX work, Luke is also an established director - having directed numerous narrative shorts in the past seven years, as well as commercials and music videos. As a passionate story teller, Luke's films have won awards on the festival circuit around the world - 2015 saw his short film 'Shadows' win best Sci-Fi and best Foreign Film at festivals in the USA. Luke continues to work on both VFX and directorial projects, with a variety of scripts in development for the coming years.

A narrative music video I directed for Louis Swindley - shot on the Arri Alexa Mini at Meadows Farm Studios and on location in Henley on Thames. The video was shot entirely in a single day which saw sun, rain, sleet and snow! A spy thriller/who dunnit I wrote and directed in the vain of 'Spooks' - starring TV legends Brian Bovell, Sol Heras, Katie Goldfinch and Johnny Sachon. A crowdfunded sci-fi action thriller I wrote and directed - on a budget of £5k. Starring Johnny Sachon and Holly Georgia. The film was screened at BAFTA 195 and has gone on to win many awards at festivals.

A PSA created for Thames Valley Police as part of their 'Know your limits' campaign. A rags to riches story about a street sweeper. A prototype weapon is stolen, and Jake is the main suspect. England has been invaded by Russia and news teams risk everything to cover the story. Screen test for feature film scene.

Amy, a gung-ho MI5 operative, must work with the inventor's protégé, Jake, an alcoholic academic, to recover it. They embark on a treasure hunt across London, the clock ticking, to avert destruction.
